The DANGERS OF ANAL SEX...
Medical Complications and Risks of Anal Sex Before we began discussing the danger of anal sex, let’s ask ourselves what is anal sex? Anal sex can be defined as any type of sexual activity which entails anal parts of the body. This is composed of: inserting anus with penis, finger or even sex toys like vibrators and stimulating the anus with mouth or tongue. Looking at biological facts will help understand the health complications caused by anal sex. The rectum is lined with a delicate columnar epithelium, only one cell thick, in marked contrast to the lining of the vagina, which much more resilient. Consequently, the vagina is designed to allow things to move in and out. It can tighten not allowing anything and at the same time expand to the extent of allowing infant to come out of it. The rectum, on the other, cannot expand to allow other things to go but removal of waste product out of the body is the main function. It contains ring-like muscles called anal sphincter that tightens after a person defecates. This is the reason why the blood vessels in the rectum break when objects goes against the natural flow of movement by its muscles. When this happens, bacteria and infection will easily enter the blood stream. It is this force from the object entrance that causes the damage of rectal/anal. From this, you can understand how detrimental it is to have such kind of intimacy against the rule of nature. If the rectum or anus gets torn, it will not heal quickly because feces that pass through the rectum contain bacteria thus increasing risk of infection. Many sexual experts and medical personnel discourage anal sex because of the danger of infection and possibility of tearing the blood vessel in the delicate rectum. Additionally, the rectum is highly contaminated with bacteria which is unsafe for reproductive organs; high vulnerable to such infection. The fragility of the delicate columnar epithelium; the lining of the rectum is inherently more susceptible to infections such as HIV, hepatitis and other viral infections that will result into anal cancer. There are also increased risks of other sexually transmitted diseases like syphilis and gonorrhea. Will safe sex help? Mechanical damage to the rectum will happen regardless of which safe sex measures is used. While the use of condom is encouraged to reduce infectious of anal sex, there is 32% breakage rate in anal sex and slippage rate of up to 21%. Therefore, using protection will not help anyone overcome this health complication and threats of anal cancer
